GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 Motherboard Reviews

Be ready to tweak the Bios 3/23/2010

Pros: Support new technology that isnt even standard yet, such as usb 3.0 and sata 6.0 with plenty of slots to hold these devices.
Was basically plug in play**

Cons: **I think it should be stated in clear and large print that if your ram is higher than 1066Mhz it will be downgraded to this speed until you tweak settings in the bios. Because RAM kits are so different from each manufacture, there is no set in stone settings to help get your RAM to run at specified speeds.

Where to Buy

I dunno who to point the finger at on this one.. but just be aware it is a PITA finding all the correct settings. I for one, did not like having to hard power down because my bios froze when the settings I was told to enter on OCZ forum did not work and the PC loaded to a black screen.. didnt even make it to the bios logo.

Other Thoughts: Still giving it a 5-star because it is capable of exactly what is says. (just have to do some research)

Built a pc with this mobo and:
12GB OCZ3G1600LV6GK
SAPPHIRE 100281SR Radeon HD 5870 (Cypress XT)
Intel Core i7-930 2.8GHz LGA 1366 Quad-Core
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP
Rest is w/e

Good SLI / Crossfire board 3/19/2010

By takker

Pros: Supports 24 GB of DDR memory and SLi/Crossfire in double or triple config. Also has two ports of USB 3.0 and SATA3 as well.

I' have two Gigabyte board and both have run like champs.

Cons: I was getting 0x124 hardware related BSOD constantly while playing MoH Airborne. I finally solved the issue by flashing the BIOS to the F5 release, which has improved memory compatibility.

Some of the on-board connectors are hidden under the graphic cards, so be sure to hook these up first.

If you are using dual video cards in the x16_1 and x16_2 slots, the x8_1 slot is hidden.

No Crossfire cables, but it did come with both twin and triple SLI cables.

Other Thoughts: Once I got the BSOD issue resolved, things have been great.
