Intel DX58SO Extreme Series Desktop Board User Reviews

Good Motherboard
By Peter Ahern

This motherboard will allow only two SLI graphics cards. This is fine if that is all you need. Others can take 3 cards. Be careful if you select a card that takes two slots... you lose a PCIe-x slot (the short one). Also, note that it is better to add the CPU cooler while the board is not mounted, if you use a Cooler Master case. You can't reach one of the four attachment bolts. Taking it all apart again is a pain. The utility from Intel will allow overclocking, and it has a automatic increment capability. Nice board. No other issues. The included fan works well on the IO Hub.

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 Motherboard Reviews

Be ready to tweak the Bios 3/23/2010

Pros: Support new technology that isnt even standard yet, such as usb 3.0 and sata 6.0 with plenty of slots to hold these devices.
Was basically plug in play**

Cons: **I think it should be stated in clear and large print that if your ram is higher than 1066Mhz it will be downgraded to this speed until you tweak settings in the bios. Because RAM kits are so different from each manufacture, there is no set in stone settings to help get your RAM to run at specified speeds.

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R Ultra Durable 3 Motherboard Review

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R Ultra Durable 3 Motherboard Review

Conclusion
Compared to previous chipsets with GIGABYTE’s VRD 11.1 support, energy conservancy wasn’t quite as prominent. To be fair and impartial, this isn’t so much GIGABYTE’s fault. The minimal 20 Watt difference observed here is due in part to the X58 chipset which requires more power on hand at all times with the Core i7 965 processor used in testing. In any other setting where applicable, the chipset does exactly what it should to keep the platform stable. Thus, the EX58-UD3R gets an “A+”.

Conclusion

I was very surprised with the features ASUS had included on the P7P55 WS SuperComputer Motherboard. For its price of $229.99 on Newegg, this board is definately something you might want to look into if you are looking for a powerful, stable, and power efficient motherboard that has more features than what you might ever use. TurboV Evo, T.Probe, the EPU Engine and the Turbo OC Tuner Profile in the BIOS make this motherboard an excellent overclocker as well as one of the most efficient motherboard on the market.

Asus P7P55D-E Premium Motherboard Review

Asus P7P55D-E Premium Motherboard Review
Using a Core i5 750, we were hoping for the kind of overclocking performance we got from Asus’ Sabertooth 55i TUF Motherboard (which allowed a BLCK of 200MHz giving us over 4GHz) but were unfortunately disappointed. The P7P55D-E Premium suffered from the same limitation as the P7P55D Deluxe, which meant that we couldn’t reach that magical 4GHz and have all cores remain stable without changing the voltage. In this case the highest bus speed the motherboard could cope with was 190, which gave us 3.8GHz.
